It’s been a long, hot, enjoyable and productive summer spending most days in the studio. Luckily I can throw open the studio doors and catch some breeze off the river.
Thames Side Open Studios weekend of 9 & 10 June was sunny, busy and fun. The winner of Continuous Rainbow my contribution to the charity mystery boxes was delighted with his choice. He said I’d made him a very happy man!! Looking forward to meeting more visitors here next year.
During July I was able to participate alongside other Thames Side Print Studio members in our Summer Show at Lumen Gallery where I showed my Ying:Yang limited edition embossed prints.
OPEN Friday 28 September – Thursday 4 October 2018 12.00 noon to 6.00 pm daily
Private View 6-8pm Friday 28 September
Why not take a late summer trip to the seaside at Whitstable on the Kent coast where I have a pop up exhibition in SHOW OFF Gallery, 13 Harbour Street, Whitstable, CT5 1AQ. Have a paddle, some oysters or good old fish and chips in the harbour. Plenty of vintage shops, arty galleries and trendy clothes shops, and cafes, pubs and bars of course. Only about an hour and a quarter from London by car or train from Victoria, Kings Cross/St Pancras or Stratford International.
MY KINGS COLLEGE HOSPITAL COMMISSION
My two commissioned artworks will be displayed in meeting and counselling rooms in Kings College Hospital in Denmark Hill when it opens its new Critical Care Unit shortly. You may have seen the two new floors and Hellipad being built over the past three years?
With the aim of providing comfort and peace at a time of stress and trauma I am bringing real nature into the clinical environment. Castings direct from flowers and seeds capture their transient beauty promoting a relaxing environment. This is work in progress so more about the final works and installation in the next Newsletter.
